Dear JSU TJJ 2019 Bus 10 Parents,
The summer is off to a wonderful start. From the airport, we went straight to the holy city of Jerusalem and after a delicious dinner, set out to a mesmerising lookout over the Temple Mount and modern day Jerusalem. Without skipping a beat, we headed to the Old City on Thursday, where our tour guide, Nili, gave over the history of ancient Jerusalem until present day before heading to the Western Wall. The descent to the Western Wall was emotional for some as it was their first time ever standing before it. We had the opportunity to approach the Wall for personal prayers and then enjoyed a tour of the tunnels beneath the Western Wall Plaza. The TJJers walked back in history to the time of the Second Temple through their aqueducts and tunnels. Today we continued that journey sifting through the dirt from the excavations around the Old City and our group was lucky to find pottery shards, man other items, and even a coin. We then went to the famous Machane Yehuda Market to shop and buy treats for Shabbat. We are looking forward to having a wonderful Shabbat together! Shabbat Shalom from Jerusalem
