Blog Day 8

Blog for July 11 NCSY Israel Trip, Bus 10

Today was a day filled with very impactful stories and beautiful sites! We started off the day by going on a water hike at the Majrasa. It was very refreshing and we can all say we got pretty wet and were glad we all had a clean pair of clothes waiting for us on the bus. After the water it was time to eat so we all had a pizza picnic and off to the De Karina Chocolate Factory we went. We got a taste on how the chocolate there is made and prepared. Of course, since we were at a chocolate factory we had to make and decorate our own chocolates. Then, we went to Mount Bental an old army post in the Golan Heights. The last thing on our itinerary today besides the well needed bathroom break was to go to Tel Saki to learn about the bravery and heroism that happened there in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War. The boys and girls had a competition to find the memorial room in the huge bunker in the dark. The girls quickly won and beat the all time record of getting there in only 1 minute and 50 seconds. The boys were not as successful as they almost went into the so called “Bat Room” named after the creatures that live there but still had a fun experience. It was amazing and beautiful to learn about our soldiers and devoted they are to our country. Overall today was a fun and great learning experience. I can’t wait for tomorrow!
